NEW RELEASE!

Rex Weyler’s Voice of the Galilean stands as one of the most clear, compelling, and concise tellings of the life and teachings of Jesus ever written. Excerpted and updated from his seminal book The Jesus Sayings: The Quest for His Authentic Message – a brilliant synthesis of the work of international Bible scholars and some 200 ancient sources –Voice of the Galilean distills the teachings of Jesus with crystal clarity, sensitivity, insight, and passion.

Equally important, Weyler challenges readers to bear “witness” to Jesus’ message today, in their own lives. “History is not on autopilot, but emerges as the summation of choices and actions performed by the living. ‘What will be will be’ is a proverb for laziness. ‘What will be’ is the result of the choices we make and the actions we take. How we act to our neighbour, our enemy, to the unfortunate, to the earth itself, measures our humanity. Jesus encouraged his audience to wake up. Jesus had faith in humanity, and this knowledge bolsters my faith in humanity. It may take a miracle, or a complete disaster, but perhaps humankind can rediscover simple living, common decency, everyday compassion and reverence for the earth.”

Author of Original Blessing, The Coming of the Cosmic Christ, and One River, Many Wells

Matthew Fox

“Rex Weyler liberates the historical Jesus to tell the Christian story anew. He speaks truth to power in this solid and exciting re-telling of the diversity, politics, and mythology behind the origins of Christianity. There is intregity and trustworthiness in this work and in this author, whose history of activism help launched the global Greenpeace movement. Read this book.”

Author of The Five Secrets You Must Discover Before You Die

John Izzo, PhD

“Rex Weyler is a master journalist and storyteller who brings us face to face with the Jesus who walked the earth, changed Western civilization, and remains relevant to modern readers.”

Vancouver Observer

“A knockout book … Weyler deconstructs one of the most highly constructed figures in the Western world. By the end, Jesus appears as a wise and humble teacher, advocating self-awareness and social compassion.”

The Globe and Mail

"Weyler extracts a core message, devoid of talk of miracles or the supernatural, by a “radical Aramaic-speaking Jewish Jesus.’ This Jesus defines the kingdom of God as within. Righteousness resides in generosity. Purity is not mere external ritual, but internal."
