Before the Amen is a new worship collection providing fresh language that is inclusive of gender, ethnicity, race, age, orientation, and ability. Written by a diverse group of seasoned writers as well as young authors - from various Christian denominations - the resource will appeal to an intergenerational, ecumenical audience. Divided into three sections, it covers resources for the liturgical year (call to worship, opening prayers, confessions, assurances of grace, dedication prayers, and litanies); resources for the worship service (readings, healing services, and chancel dramas); and general resources. Also includes prayers for special issues such as natural disaster, domestic violence, and surrogate parent.
